Write a thank you note


1. Greet the Giver

Dear Aunt Sally,
That’s the easy part, but you’d be surprised how many people forget it. Dale Carnegie taught us people love to hear their own names and Direct Marketing is sure we also love to read them in ink. That’s right, ink. Blue-black is always the number-one choice, but black will suffice in a pinch. Don’t let a whimsical marker color be the most stunning part of your note: instead let the words sing without the amplification of rainbow hues. Even if your handwriting is poor, you must still hand-write your notes. Do not type them or, worse, use a word processor. No excuses.

2. Express Your Gratitude

Thank you so much for the slippers.
This first paragraph seems like it would be the easiest, but it is actually the most complicated. Beware the just writing trap. You are not ‘just writing to say’ as in I am just writing to say; that’s stating the obvious. If the giver is reading, clearly you have already written. Therefore use the present-perfect tense, which essentially means write as if whatever you say is happening in the moment.
Also—and this is important—never directly mention money. ‘Thank you for the hundred bucks’ could instead be ‘Thank you for your generosity.’ All cash denominations become ‘your generosity’ or ‘your kindness.’ If you feel the giver overspent, the farthest you can go is appreciated: ‘Your generosity is appreciated,’ or ‘It is such an extravagant gift—your kindness is appreciated.’
If you’re writing to thank someone for an intangible (such as them putting you up at their place while you were in town for the weekend), first define what the intangible thing is, and then make the gift sound as attractive as possible. In other words, don’t say: ‘Thanks for letting us crash at your place.’ Instead say: ‘Thank you for your hospitality.’ Don’t worry if it sounds too simple; the point of writing the note is to create a simple expression of a heartfelt sentiment.

3. Discuss Use

It gets very chilly here in the winter, so they will get a lot of use when winter comes.
Say something nice about the item and how you will use it. Let’s say it’s something you actually love and use incessantly—then say so: ‘Ever since I got the slippers I have only taken them off to shower and go to work. I’d wear them to the office if I thought I could get away with it.’
But don’t lie, even though some etiquette books may tell you it’s okay. After all, there’s always a truth that can be extracted. Let’s say you hate the slippers. How to say thanks? Find the one thing about them that’s nice and discuss it—but don’t get carried away. ‘They are such a lovely shade of blue’ works, and is more honest than ‘These slippers make my heart sing like a choir of angels,’ which is overkill. If it was a gesture, like letting you stay at their place, you can follow the lines of ‘It’s so nice to make a personal connection while traveling. I really appreciated my time with your family.’
If the gift was cash, allude to how you will use the money, but do not itemize your planned purchases line by line, instead simply say: ‘It will be a great help when we purchase our new home/toaster/lava lamp/whatever.’
You can get arty here, but not flowery. It’s a fine line. Small, realistic statements like ‘I put the flowers on the kitchen table and they are still looking fresh and beautiful after a week,’ or ‘I don’t know which is more fun, actually using the Cuisinart, or reading recipes and thinking I could do that in the Cuisinart!’ Having fun is alright, so have at it.

4. Mention the Past, Allude to the Future

It was great to see you at my birthday party, and I hope to see you at Dad’s retirement in February.
Why did they give you the gift? What does it mean to your relationship with the giver? Let the giver know how they fit into the fabric of your life. If it’s someone you see infrequently, say whatever you know: ‘Mom tells me you’re doing great at Stanford, and I hope we cross paths soon.’ If it’s someone you’re in regular contact with: ‘I’ll call you soon, but I wanted to take time to say thanks.’ If it’s some errant family member you have little or no contact with, simply go with ‘You are in my thoughts and I hope you are well.’ Nice, right?

5. Grace

Thanks again for your gift.
It’s not overkill to say thanks again. So say it.

Simply wrap it up. Use whatever works for you: Love, Yours Truly, With Love. Then sign your name and you’re done.

What’s Not There

Any news about your life. This isn’t the time to brag about your new job, a hot girlfriend, or number of surgeries. The thank-you is exclusively about thanking somebody for their kindness. While you may want more than anything to show them once and for all you amounted to something, this is not the forum. Save that for your annual Christmas letter.
Now get it in the mail. Even if your friends and relatives aren’t of the note-writing variety, be the one who sets the precedent. Thank-you-note writing is one of the loveliest traditions to have been utterly compromised by the information age. Let’s start a movement to revive a little gracious living.

LIVING SACRIFICE

TEXT: - Romans 12:1-2

INTRODUCTION:
Sacrifice is anything offered or giving willingly, it struggles and then dies. God wants us to offer our lives (still living) willingly on the alter. Sacrifice requires fire, and so wood and fuel has to be gathered. Proverb 26:20a. As the fire burns out matters and materials, energy is released. A sacrifice must be holy acceptable unto God before it can make sense to God.
There is a pattern God has ordered your life to take and the world has its own systems and God is saying we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be compressed / squeezed to the pattern of this world. When you conform to the image of the world, you become wrinkled and Christ is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle and Christ is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle.
It is a matter of consecration that will bring a man to a point of “Don’t” (never be enticing). You have to stay under the fire of God and let Him mould you from within.
If a man refuses to present himself as a living sacrifice, such a person is not into spiritual worship, reasonable and intelligent service.

Things You Must Do If You Want To Remain A Living Sacrifice.
1. Do not have an exaggerated estimation of yourself.
2. You must be burning and shinning light John 5:35.
3. Do not be high minded and slothful in business Isaiah 57:15.
4. Be above reproach, be honest Mark 12:14
5. Be of integrity Luke 9:23.
6. Keep close to Him to be effective. As a man stays close to Jesus, His properties rubs on Him.

Characteristics of a Living Sacrifice
• Love 2corinthians 5:14-15.
• He doesn’t live for Himself, but for Christ Galatians 2:20.
• Your walk with God must be upwards Job 8:7; Luke 9:62

Conclusion:
A living sacrifice do not live for himself, but for Christ who died for him. As a living sacrifice, glorify God in your body for you are the temple of God 1corinthians 6:19-20 and have been bought with a price and you are not your own. You must also come to the persuation as a living sacrifice that you are a stranger in this world. Hebrew 11:13-37, if you fail to realize that you will continue to live a sub-standard life.

The box stands as a limitation to everyone that is seeking for comfort, comfort stand for relax where you don’t have to do any thing to better your life. Many people are living in the comfort of there parent while some taking advantage of others.
Fitting outside the BOX is moving in the opposite direction against the direction where everyone else is going. To fit in outside the box is:-
UNDERSTANDING WHY YOU ARE MOVING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. Knowing that the masses want comfort zone you should do the opposite of what your stereotype says you are.
THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX
Don’t do as others do and don’t think as they think. Think your own part and let others follow suit and you will be at the edge of them. Many people think you will always act the way they want you to but standout and think differently
TO ANY BODY WHO WANT TO EXPAND INTERNATIONALLY. PLEASE LEGALIZE YOURSELVES EVERY WHERE YOU GO.

ü As a leader you should prepare the people to go out and represent
ü As a leader you should train your workers the way you would have train your child (i.e. the way that pleases God).
ü It is not what you do but how you do it that matters a lot.
ü One of the ways to lose leadership is not to be an assistant.
IN REFLECTING CHRIST YOU HAVE TO BE INOVATIVE IN CREATING NEW STREAM OF REVENUE. FOR IT IS A GREAT PROBLEM SOLVER, IT IS A GREAT TRANSITION INTO THE WORK FORCE.

GOD'S LOVE FOR US

Do you experience God's love for us? Or do you sometimes think you are all alone in the world? Or that God doesn't love you? If so, you are not alone. Multitudes of people today, Christians and non-Christians, have similar thoughts. This was also true when Paul was alive. Look at what he said when he prayed that the Ephesians would deeply know God's love.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen (Ephesians 3:16-21).
The Ephesians did not fully grasp God's love for them. If this is true of you, too, prayerfully study the following Scriptures on God's love for you. As you read, ask God to help you believe and accept the wonders of his mighty love for us.
Accept God's love for us and the new life Jesus offers.
Jesus offers each of us a walk with God and a fullness of life that is not possible without him. As he said, "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35), and "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). He also said, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again" (John 3:3). Jesus' death, resurrection, and offer of eternal life is the greatest manifestation of God's love for you.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved (Ephesians 2:4-5).
If you have not been born again—that is, if you have not become a Christian—let me invite you to surrender yourself to him now, for "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). Give your life to God by accepting Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Let me invite you to read the following as a prayer.
Dear Lord, I confess that I am a sinner. Please forgive my sins and accept me as your child. I invite you to be my Savior and the Lord of my life. I surrender myself to you in the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord.
